I'm using Maya 2010 and I'm having some problems with Maya shuts down with an error. Incremental save has to be turned on manually, so I'm looking for a way so that Maya turns on incremental save whenever I save a scene, or something similar.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe there's already a script doing this, but I couln't find any.

There's a ton of stuff you can find for that on Highend3d. But other than having a maya environmental script you could just save using an incremental script (so that will never disappear from your shelf or if you assign it to a hotkey). http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/applications/misc/c/incremental-saver
