View Full Version : Morfed v3 Subd's screwed in v4
Stahlberg 05-15-2002, 05:26 AM Complex Subd surface with the hierarchy intact (a face) is Blendshaped to several facial expressions. Created in v3.0
When opened in v4.0, if any of the Blendshapes have any value other than 0 the face turns into a porcupine. This happens to ALL my characters, so it's not just a single corrupt surface or something. Have anyone else encountered this?

Yes ran into several problems with version 3's Sub-d's as well. Never found a good solution. Might try sending over just the polygon spline cage and converting to sub-d again. That is...if youve built much detail into to polyside of things. I dont happen to model that way so that didnt help me. Ive gotten it to work on several models just by deleting the history and sending it over. Good luck.

(Thanks!)
It's not the actual models, they work ok if I delete the Blendshape connections, and reconnect them as a new Blendshape in v4 (at least I hope so, I've just done a simple test so far). I'm just wondering why I have to do that, it's a lot of work with dozens of Target shapes and SetDrivenKeys on each one, and several characters. Oh well... :)
One more thing, in v3 I could delete all the Targets after I was done and save a lot on filesize, sometimes down to a third, it seems from my preliminary test that I can't do that in v4.
Anybody here using v4.5, is there any differences in how it handles Subd's and Blendshapes?
