View Full Version : Animation WIP: Fighting with Mosquitos

Hello,
I'm making a 10sec animation that will hopefully become my demo reel. Its nothing spectacular but i thought I'd share it with you guys and maybe get some pointers or ideas :)

Basic premise of the animation is that the over reaction of the character to a mosqito biting his nose. The animation so far is just a bunch of ket frames and not everything is in there (notably missing is the mosquito :D it shows only in few frames), the camera angles will change etc. But..you can see where i'm going

story: He's sleeping, mosquito bites his noses, he shakes it off, grabs the gun, fires wildly, jumps around looking for it, comes back to original position and tries to shoot but runs out of ammo, drops the gun and runs away while a swarm of mosquitos attacks him.

I have a problem with the particle system as you can see. The shells dance around the floor and disapear ... I'm using SuperSpray with POmniFlector and Gravity.
I've been told that there isnt much i can do about that without using PFlow, which i have access to but no time to learn. Maybe somone can show me a quick and dirty way of doing it ?

another problem would be firing the gun/stopping and firing again .. i cant find an option for it in the SuperSPray...maybe it doesnt exist...i guess i can throw another SP there if all else fails.

Hey Lukas.

I would suggest changing the texturing on his face a little. I know that is the last thing you're thinking of right now, but maybe for after you make the animation.

Make his unshaven beard a little more noisy. Also right now it goes all the way up the nose (as seen on the close-up), maybe make it end a little lower?

I'll try to comment on animation when/if it loads.

still problems... but moving along :)

and yes...the ammo belt stays in place for some reason :D it shall be fixed.
