Greetings,

This represents roughly 35 hours of modeling and surfacing (mostly modeling). I made it in Lightwave, and G2 assisted on the surfacing.

You can see a partial turntable animation here (http://www.carm3d.net/Globe_Viewer.htm) (older version of surface, however).

There is a brief tutorial on how I wrapped it into a sphere on this (http://vbulletin.newtek.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9176) WIP thread.

Be happy!

Wow that looks fantastic. Im suprised there are no replies. Great modeling job, it looks photorealistic in my opinion, you did an excelent job on the textures. The only part that bugs me is the rings aren't (or don't appear to be) connected in anyway therefore it couldn't exist in real life :( thats the only thing that makes it non-realistic in my opinion. Excellent work.

Thanks Shaykai. :) Yeah it's kind of impossible in RL.
It's part of a logo thing, so the laws of physics don't really need to apply here.

Hey thats really cool. The different colors really make it look nice :).

It would be entirely possible in real life if there were wires running through the continents, connecting it all together.

Looks good.

I really like that. My only critique is that I would rather have the words not going on top of the globes. If it was me, I'd put the words above or below.

That's my silly watermark.. Ignore it. :p

Thanks for the complement.

Love the animation! Would kick ass if you upped a 360 loop.
Nice reflections, feels rock solid. Cool idea!
