I was just wondering if someone could help me with a little advice. I've heard that the most effective way to create an animation from 3ds max is to export as individual frames and put back together in video editing software.

My question is what file format is recommended for the individual frames? I have been exporting as highest quality jpegs which works ok but can produce 'blurry' animations. Is there a better file format to use or am i already using the best method?

Cheers
James

Don't use jpg.

The best format (quality-wise) would be .bmp, since there is no compression whatsoever. However you'll likely run out of disc space ;).

Use a format with a lossless compression, e.g. .tif, .tga, .png or .exr.

Cheers, tifs are working much better. I'm just wondering what would be the best software to use to combine the individual tif frames? I need to buy something that will do this
