Here's a project I just finished, with my first 3d heads. (made for illustration only).

details and wires in my wip folder:

I did Vin's head first, foolishly thinking that a bald guy would be easier.

Paul walkers hair is (obviously) hand painted due to the fact that it was a rush job. when I get some free time I'd like to re-do him using Shave N Haircut. Lot's of triangles but it's for "stills" only.

All done in C4d-Bodypaint and Photoshop.

woops, for some reason it showed up here. I was in the wip area when I posted. and the pic doesn't show up. guess I'll need to read those forum rules a bit closer.

sorry.

looks awesome

however, I think its mostly the lighting or the image quality you saved the picture on that makes it look a bit rough.

Looking cool but the renders are a bad quality for showing of modeling skills.
I ask you to post viewport images or some other renders.
Somehow looking like good composition work right now but not like great modeling.

Looks great to me. Its hard enough to model a decent human head, let alone succeed at matching the likeness of a particular person. I see nothing wrong wih the image quality.

The larger pictures on my site (using the links I posted) show the details better.

I haven't figured out how to post an image here successfully.

The wireframes of the heads will show a lot of "illega" triangles. But like I said, this is an Illustration project, not an animation. The actual Game heads are very low poly as is typical for PS2 games.

My artwork was for the game box cover and advertising.

The thumbnail image is the max size this forum allows to be posted. So if you did not see the larger images try the links to my site and my wip folder.

Thanks for the crits 'n comments

These are great! You really need to drop the photoshop filters though!

Post some more angle of their faces! (please)

took a second look at the wires and have to admit that the quality of the Vin mesh is really cool. These few triangles are always there and it's just a question of some "fine-tuning".

For the Paul walker face: I thing it is looking painted. The face looks painted over a wireframe of a mesh i can't see behind the painting. So plz post other renders.

@JoelD The image quality is really not a pleasure to watch.

Wow I love the face, looks really cool, but work on the ears. Easiest way to tell CG characters from real ones are most often the ears. Get the ears right and your model will be awesome.

uber nice dude only thing weird is that vic deisels eyes look higher poly toward the middle. Almost like you modeled them. Which I think is usually pretty unnecessary I mean even pixar just uses a basic sphere.

anyway looks top notch dude sure a few problems but then with a dead line you are gonna get um.
