Hi,

We created a 3D model using MAX 5.1 and we like to do a compositing with a live shot, using Combustion.

My 3D model should walk through the streets, but it looks float on the street.

How can I solve this problem, without Boujou or others tracker solutions?

Is the live shot a locked off camera shot?

If so, then you are probably missing things like shadows (you'll have to do a basic model of the environment as something to catch shadows)

Or is it a hand-held or panning shot?

In which case, you will have to do a 2D track in Combustion to get the CG to stick onto the surface. Oh, and shadows as mentioned above.

Or is it a tracking/dollying shot?

Then your best bet is to use a 3D tracking program like Boujou or Icarus, as it's the only way to really make sure your view of the CG character is the same as your view through the camera.
