Ok for my first time to every try and model something I have picked something very easy. A bullet. It is a 300 weatherby magnum high power rifle bullet. To make it I just selected NURBS cv curve tool and then on the verticle axis I drew a side of the bullet and then made nurbs rotate around the axis. The thing is that there is a small whole at the top and a large whole at the bottom. How do I make the program fill these wholes in? Should I go another way about making it? Also how do I engrave writing or a symbol onto the side of it? Thanks a lot.

Tips : always turn on snap to grid while dealing with curves :)

Deathbrain pretty much answered your first problem. To answer your question about the writing or symbol. You would use bump maps. I dont know if you're familiar with them, but basically 50% grey has no effect, 100% black will engrave in and white will do the opposite.

You should read up a more detailed explanation, but the core principle is that you use a grayscale map to make ridges or engravings. Wow, thats a bad explanation. Sorry
