View Full Version : Help With Rigid Bodies - A Chain Following Fast Moving Object

Hey everyone,

I'm working on a personal project right now. I have a fast moving object and have built a simple chain. I'm using rigid body dynamics to simulate the chain following this object. My problem is that I'm suffering from penetration problems :hmm:.

After much experimentation, I think the problem is that my object is moving too fast for Maya to keep up. How can I resolve this? I've tried to setting the step size as low as it can go but the chain still breaks.

The chain is attached to this object and need it to follow accurately.

try editing your oversamples to something like 10 in your solvers menu, see if that helps. Just means you have to wait longer for it to sim but if it works then its always worth it.

I just tried it but to no avail :shrug:.

If anyone has any solutions, please do share. If not, I'll keep at it until I get it.
