Hi everyone this is my first concept painting of a character I want to bring to life.
But I need further guidances especially from pros from this forum too.

The armor has its edges weathered a little so I was guessing that the armor's highlight would be broken up a little.

It's hard to find references for this in reality.

First focus on your line work. Learn how to draw shapes 3-dimensionally, If you develop that, everything else will follow, lighting, materials etc., but if your shapes don't look good in the first place then the rest falls apart. I recommend you go to The Gnomon Workshop for DVDs and tutorials on concept design, which talk exclusively about how to make accurate drawings of vehicles, characters and robots.
