CGTalk - hair using Paint FX

Hi you all!

Just wondering if its possible to create some stunning hair effects with Paint FX? I think I saw some cool examples back in 1999 or so, could it be true?

and, does Paint FX cast shadows on to geometry? It would be a very nice thing for hair.
