im pretty new to maya
i am importing an obj and it has tons of mesh

i was wondering if there was a slick way to wrap a new surface to it

to kind off duplicate it as a nurbs object or something
i figured it wouldn't be to bad to creat a bunch of curves on surface and then skin them or something???

any suggestions

to convert a poly to nurbs is the old dream of every modeller :) . but anyway. at least you can convert it to subd (if you have unlimited). to rebuild that as a nurbs, usually you have to get curves out of the surface and then use the different surfaces for nurbs to get one.
