View Full Version : Tutorial: Bio SKin overview
tonygib 08-08-2003, 11:34 AM UPDATE: The ISP has had some connection problems, price one pays for free hosting, not that it was their fault or under their control. However things should be working again, if not try again a little latter, thanks.
Hi all,
I have just added a new little tutorial, well overview really, of a maxscript call Bio Skin, written by Kees Rijnen. Basically Bio Skin adds a bunch of very useful tools when skinning your character using 3ds max's "skin" modifier. So if you happen to do that, check it out:

hey guys, your welcome, hope you find it useful. Though in the end all I did was make a little tutorial, the real thanks should go to Kees for writting the script in the first place :)

Nice to see some new tutorials , I have to try Bio Skin some day.
What about your arm setup? Reading the tutorial I was wondering about your arm setup, especially the upperarm twist. I haven' t really tried with a upperarm twist yet, but it I would like to test it. There was a pretty good tutorial in a 3d world once. Do you have any animations that you could show regarding the upperarm? It would be nice to see how it works.
Marie looks pretty good btw, I belive I seen her before in a earlier stage.

Hi owiik,
Sorry, no I havn't got any animations, etc yet. I'm still sorting out final rigging and the like. But based on little direct test's it seams to work pretty well, ie I can put Maries hand behind her head and "untwist" the mesh at the shoulder. If I get a chance I may do a little tut, etc on the rigging.
But in short the basic setup is from using Charrigger, by Micheal Comet, then much like his low-arm twist I add my own for the upperarm.

Sorry syst3moveride, I don't really do any patch modelling these days, have you check the resources or tutorial sub forms, or try a search.
