Greetings and Salutations

I am UVing an Urban scene. Varios buildings, objects, etc... Currently I am editing the UV's of a circular window frame. It came to be by lofting two curves and then it was converted to polys. I have projected the uvs, but now I need to edit the uv map because the proportion is all wrong and it's distorting. My question is, how would you guys and gals approach this? what tools would you use? aside from manipulating uvs by hand I mean. I have tried the smudge uvs and the unwrap functions, but maybe not in the best way I basically need a radial evenly spaced map.

here are some screnshots

It does depend on the kind of window, but i would divide the frame in 4 seams, then i would create another seam along the complete inner side.

It should fit a somewhat squarish area after that.

PS: Or if it isn't an important piece (say a background object) I would just use a planar map on the front.
