Hi i recently lofted a circle and then used the Deformation>scale tool to make a leg for my creature. I then added a edit mesh to play with it a bit and put on a skin modifier. I went animation>createbones and then made the bone structure for my leg. I went back into my loft object skin modifier panel and added the bones to it. Now i should be able to grab a bone and it will move the boject. I have done this with a lathe object and it worked fine but no matter how many times i try with my loft object it just doesnt seem to work!!?? Can this be done can you use bones with a loft object?

Also i have tried collpasing my loft into a editable spline then putting a skin on and adding the bones, but still it does not work :S

Thx for your time :)

Oh i also went into my loft objects "object properties" and ticked the on/off box.. still doesnt work :S

maybe you should not try to collapse your loft to an editable spline, but to an editable mesh.
good luck!

ok, I think when you have collapsed it down to a mesh it does not matter what the object has been in an earlier life (a loft). i guess the problem is the skin modifier or the bone. try if you can reproduce your problem when you use some standard mesh (let's say: a box?).
