hello, i'm rigging my first own character. I posted a similar thread a while ago, but I was that down of not making progress at rigging that i started other things like sculpting etc.
I started again a few days ago and got further than last time. But I have problems, again.
Here is the first picture. It's my character, not special, I know. I hope you see which parts are metal-armor and which parts are skin (or: armor suit).

Now my skeleton:

And here my first problem:

I'm using a reverse foot setup (this one: http://www.rigging101.com/free/rever...lock/index.htm (http://www.rigging101.com/free/reversefootlock/index.htm)). You can see, I moved the right leg a bit to demonstrate. Is it normal how the Knee area is bending? I wasn't really even thinking of animating, just testing a bit. I could move the leg less, sure, but when he walks, wouldn't it look strange? He can only make small steps then. Or is it normal how my leg behaves? I already skinned the leg, so, is there anything I forgot? Should I rebuild the skeleton (It's no prob, got much time)?
The next screen displays my smooth bind settings. I have no knowledge about this, so let me know if i should change them.

The character was planned for a little animated short, 1-2 mins long. It's for an university application but I still got 1-2 years or even more. I'm thinking of doing something different, with a more "basic" character which has only skin parts. Unfortunately, I modelled this one without thinking of what I want to do with him when he's finished. I still dont really know.
