hi i have a car perfectly modeled, i just want to composte it in a street at night, i got the video fottage, and i want in this scene my car to be realisticly rendered with refelections and shadows and car lights, also in the camera trackin i have a video fottage of the camera rotating but i want the rotatin of the live video to match the rotatin of my car in xsi, and i want the most relistic rendering and camera trackings. if u cant help me with camera tracking, i'll use jus a image pallet. softwares i have that might be useful are:
xsi 3.5, boujor 2.1, photoshop 7. or if its too much name a book or video, tnx alot

Hey ephex,
I've done something very similar before. Usually, people create the CG to match the video, which, you could very easily do in Boujou. But if you wanted to create video that matches CG...well, i guess that's what all the big FX houses have been doing the past few years... You'd probably have to do a rough model of the whole environment, then slap some textures on there from some stills from the video with a camera projection, then render out the background again. But a little easier, if you can go back to where you took the video footage, is to take some pictures to get an environment map, then put that in your scene. I'm sure there's some other tweaks and everything that you'd have to do to make it look right, but I'm no expert on doing FX-stuff.
Later,
Chris
