View Full Version : Faster way to cut clean?

Assume you have a simple box, and wish to cut one side so there is an edge through it. What I do is rotate the box in perspective so I can see the side I want to cut in half or 2/3 whatever. Then I select cut and draw across the site.

The problem with this, is that the hand is not very accurate, so I have to then play with the new verts in the other windows in order to align them in a straight line. Is there a faster method? I tried planar slice but it seems to add more points to my model than I need.

Hi, select the two edges and hit "connect":) This will give you an edge in the middle.
If you want it 2/3 you can hit the connect-dialog-box select 3 segments. This wil distribute them evenly over the edges. Then you can delete two of the edges and the vertices that go with them with backspace.
