CGTalk - Question : MAYA PLE

I'm a MAX user and thinkin of moving on to MAYA,they dont have it so I'm thinking of buyin it,but I'm kinda low on funds and it'd be extremely wise to have the PLE and learn from it and see if the prog suits me.

Problem : I searched for PLE and the AliasWavefront website did'nt provide downloads,I'm also not sure how big the file is.It is stated that the current PLE version is MAYA 5.But it is NOT AVAILABLE for downloads.They do however,offer a bundle with DVD for an affordable $19.But I live outside of the states and probably would take a while to get it sent to this jungle I live in (my animal friends are not used to seeing FedEx people)

Solution : Can anyone here please help me,Is there a special Maya page that I just kind of missed,or a button I did'nt press.And another thing is does it only work for Win XP PROFESIONAL?

Since version 5 isn't out yet.

The PLE probably only works for Win2KPro/and WinXP for now. But they released a 4.5PLE for macs, I think. You might be able to get someone here to let you download their version of the 4.5 PLE. I don't know if the distributing of the PLE is illegal or not. I don't have it, but there has to be something in the docs that would let you know.
