Hi, I begun using 3ds max 2009, modelled a simple square house and added the Unwrap modifier. I did exactly what I used to do in 3Ds max 9, which is to directly press Edit in the Unrwap's Parameters rollout, then select Normal Mapping -> Box Mapping from the window's menu, and start stitching/breaking the UVs as I see fit. However, when I applied the Checker map (standard material) to see if there was any stretching in the parts that I was done with (and when box-mapping, there's never any, unless you start pulling vertices like a blind man), the whole mesh came up white, with a few slightly darker areas. I tried changing the diffuse map in any way I could think of, re-applied it, changed from mental ray to scanline and back, but nothing happened. Is anyone aware of the problem, or of any unusual changes in the program?
