Hy everybody,
I decide to post here because i have a probleme which i'm not able to resolve alone.
It's my firts post here and i'm really sorry for my bad English, I'm french. so I think you can understand....

Right now, i have to create any silver pendant, but my problem is to make a good reflection on a flat object with big hole and some other thing like that....

As you can see, my precedent object was more simple, just a quad with mat. Arch et design by MR. While the other have 4 hole, and make the situation more complicated for me.
On the picture, i show the mesh of this pendant and the chamfer.
I think it's my mesh which is the source of bad marks on the render because both pendant are illuminated by the same lights and they are in the same scene. But the result is really diferent.
Do you have some idea to correct my object?
Thanks

- Check if all your vertices are co-planar (Check if your geometry is actually flat)

- Check your smoothing groups. (it should not be smoothed where your geometry is flat)

- Which software are you using?

_It's a box, and all my vertices on each plan is co planar

_ I don't use meshsmooth, i use smoothing group

_ i work with 3dsmax

i have work on new model but the result has no reflection... i don't have the same render that my precedent object...

sorry "groupe de lissage 2"= smoothing group 2

Wait...you have SG 1 and 2 on the top parts and on the sides? That way Max tries to smooth out the Vertex Normals over that 90° angle and that leads to that strange shading. Use SG3 on the top ans bottom parts. The shading problems should then disappear
