Hey,

I've setup an entire scene and lit everything perfectly. Almost all my lights have quadratic decay on and so obviously it calculates the intensity of the light based on distance.

No the problem is that I decided to scale up my scene by 12 units in all axis. So the distance from the light source to the object has been scaled up by 12 times. The problem now is that the lights intensity is way too weak. My question is, how do I find a formula that will let me work out the appropriate intensity, so I can keep the exact lighting setup I have right now?

Basically, if one of you math genius's could just work out a figure that I should times my current intensity by, I'd really appreciate that.

All help is really appreciated.

Thanks!

just one thing i noticed:

when you put your camera in a group with all the rest of the scene and then scale all, the lights will have the same brightness even if they have a decay.
but i am not really sure if that is a bug or a feature.. :)

to your problem..

newLightIntensity = oldIntensity*scaling^2
??

not really sure about that one.. too warm to think

cheers

Yup that was the formula I was going to use, but I just got such bizzare figures, I thought it had to be wrong. Thanks!!

I did parent my camera to the group and it made no difference, I'll try and test that out tomorrow.
