I use the scanline, brazil test ver. and v-ray free ver. but mostly the scanline. It is fast on the basic rendering, but lacks on ray-trace and gi where brazil and v-ray rule.

The scanline for testing geometry integrity, unwanted folds, artifacts, and mapping. Quite fast, especially the one in MAX 5. Or is this only my experience with it?
For production, and by production think of: "Images made for little o me", I use Brazil. I'm really attached to it, and I think it's the best renderer around now theese days, with a reasonable pice... :D
I've tried V-ray demo once, and think it's a real powerful renderer.
But for GI, and raytracing, the new max scanline methods work just as good for me, maybe a little slower, but fully integrated....
Wow, this is another topic, you could write books about,... But I quite, dont want to turn this into a debate about renderers. Sorry.
