okay, I'm sorta stuck on how I should make the background for this piece. BAsed on what you see colored in, and the pencil sketch, what do you think the setting should be; nighttime or day time? Also, any critique for this so far would be nice. but please ignore the left side of the boy's face and his legs/ non existant shoes since im still working on that >.<

Well, where would the characters want to be. Were do they think they are.
This is how I do it, live into the scene...

ok youve lost direction because you dont know what to do with the characters.

theyre just sitting on a white bg.

you need to do a concept first.

THEN develop that further, that way you can see what will work and what will not.
