I have a model of the earth, there is a bitmap applied to the uv's and I would like to inform zbrush that I would like a height value associated with the color data on the texture. But I'm not sure how to do this. As it is, the best thing that I can think of is masking off the areas I don't want affected and raising the geometry manually.
Or storing a morph target, switching, inflating, and painting with the morph brush to lower the elevation.

It would be best if I could just use the texture information to raise the geometry.

Any ideas?

Under Masking click Mask by Intensity or by Hue etc. Then under Deformation use the Inflate slider to raise the geo. This would work if your height/color information gets brighter at higher elevations, or vice versa.
