Hi. I am not very talented with any sort of visual art, but I like to try to do 3d as a hobby (I have max 4.2). So here is the beginning of a mech, or exo-skeleton suit thing that one might wear. I am basically making it up as I go along, so what I'm looking for, is any sort of comments about the current structure, or ideas to what I should do next. Ideas are preferred over criticism, unless constructive, because I know I'm not talented and this will never be a great work of art, I just want to try to have fun with it. I want to try to keep it in a human shape (upright, two arms/legs, etc.), but within that, it's fair game. There is not much right now (what should I do next... A BODY?) but as things progress perhaps people will have some ideas for it :) .

Just the helm, collar, and some shoulder armour so far. This angle is looking at the front...

I know it's simple and unimpressive, but I'm not a very talented modellor, and have no intentions to have a masterpiece.

I would like some crit/comment on the texturing especially, cuz it's my first time really making it. Made a texture in photoshop, flipped it and changed colors, then mixed with smoke material to give it a weared down feel. Just messed around with settings trying to get a metal look. Is it at all convincing?

I will continue to work on this, and any comments/ideas are most definitely welcome!

:) Change in the armour setup. Is it for the best you think?

By the way, a few more pics (though not much different) can be found in the graphics section of my little site:
