View Full Version : Why is this model all jacked up?
Shade01 08-07-2003, 10:15 AM When I convert Polys to subdivision, it does this thing in the picture, like each face is seperate from the next one. How can I fix this? This is a converted .obj file.
Thanks!

merge the edges before converting and double check the normals

It's an model exported in wings3d, and for some reason it's unwelding everything during the conversion. I've taken your advice and figured out about the merge edges vertices, but is there a way to do this to the whole model accurately?

have you tried selecting all the vertices, and doing merge vertex with the lowest distance setting?

dude...just select the model in object mode....apply the merge multiple edges....should be enough. if there is still an edge...do it one more time and thats it.
use the "textures off" if the model has Uvs that u dont want to sew....i found a tolerance at .001 to work very well...and .01 just in case.
