Hi everyone,

Just finished my Matte Painting and Compositing training series (http://www.asilefx.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=112) for Vue, Photoshop, and general 3d applications (with some focus on C4D).

The training is just under 8 hours.

I also have an additional 3 hours of training from the original product I started. I ran into a few problems so I decided to start fresh. Most of these issues have since been solved, and I really don't want these recordings to go to waste. I plan on finishing up the first run, and making it available as a free product, or very cheap. This version is a very beginner approach and covers the fundamentals.

I will post when the rest of the training is finished up. If you subscribe to the asileFX newsletter, you will be notified when it is available. Currently sign up for the newsletter requires an account on the asileFX site. Hoping to open this up to a general email submission soon, so accounts are not required.

I've really enjoyed helping everyone out on the forums. If anyone has any questions about Vue, feel free to post and I'll see what I can do.

Enjoy!

This new series youré providing looks very interesting, I think Im gonna wait thou, until
vue 8 is out.

One question.

thereīs a section where you deal with spectral clouds and z-depth and mask, and
Im wondering if you have explored this or if the spectral clouds masking techniques works well to be able to work with render passes of hypervoxels from lightwave.

What Im thinking of is getting hypervoxels aeroplane smoke to actually be obscured
by spectral clouds where they intersect if an aeroplane decends down through clouds?

Unfortunatly the ozone plugin donīt seem to be able to handle that type of scene.
It renders hypervoxels yeah, but no obscuring interaction with the clouds.

So it would be interesting to hear if that is a doable approach with spectral clouds masks
and post processing in after effects.

Looks good Nick,

Do you have any training videos on how to do the orbital effects in Vue?

Thanks,

Anthony

Reply to phamarus:

Using a cloud z-depth would be able to create the interactions with HV that you are looking for. I'll see if I can get a chance to render a scene showing it today. I've been using C4D primarily to host xstream, so I will need to get it setup in LW first.
Cloud ZDepth may not be possible in ozone though, you'll first have to see if LW lights affect clouds, not sure if this was included with ozone.

Reply to AnthonyC:

By orbital effects do you mean the planetary/spherical scenes?

Exactly what I'm looking for...thanks!

that would be good nick, no hurry.

Im mainly interested in how it works with vue 7.5 infinite and camera match or x-stream.

Ozone doesnt really matter, since Im not that excited over the ple versions and how it
works together with lightwave, missing function editor, missing cloud detail tab and
rotation placement control, and the preview are not scalable..just to small to get decent
previews from..I thought thou that it would be able to interact with hypervoxels but it appearantly can not, except it renders alongside with it, but not interact.

if you get the time to show a sample it would be interesting to see a view from above the
clouds with a hypervoxel smoke trail like a meteorite or aeroplane smoke going over it and in to the cloud and then getting obscured by the clouds as it falls down.

I think a couple of still pictures will do, if you donīt have the render time:)

I donīt think Ive seen a clip of anyone pulling that of.
