View Full Version : how? easy moving cloth

im making this character. now he is going to get some sort of skirt thing on.

so that has to move when i start animating him in the future..

so it doesnt interfeer with the legs.. or better.. i will interfeer with the legs..and letts the legs pull it up and let it move..


how do i get this effect the easyest and best way ?

Hey there, try to use a cloth simulator : )
You can use Reactor Cloth, or Simcloth for that matter (or others, but simcloth is free and reactor is included in Max); it's been widely discussed before on this very forum, perform a search and you'll probably find lots of usefull informations on cloth sim, i remember 3DZealot has some very neat images on cloth sim and might be able to help you if you need.
Basically, model your piece of cloth, assign it physical properties, deflectors and so on (your character's leg in this case) and run the simulation over your pre-animated character.
