This is from a 4 min sketch, as I drank coffie. I like the loose look, however should I push more?

If you managed to paint that in 4 min, I'd say why not? :)
Keep pushing, or do it with the next coffee-doodle!

The stetch only took 4 min.. the paint about 45.
My question is this. Would it work as concept art on a Pro level? I see all sorts of styles out there.
I just want to be better so I can land a full time gig.

The sketch is good, the painting not so much.

Does that help?

1. I desaturated your image, how well the color is done doesn't matter if the contrast is bad.
2. Gave each object a base color, then I did basic shading
3. It seemed like it was night, how the image was done, fire is warm, so I used warm high lights and dark cool shadows.

I'm not a pro, I'm not in the industry, just an art student :P

btw spent 20 minutes on it.

Does that help?

It does help, I need to be more mindful. I like the loose look I have going on, but I need to make that style follow the rules of light and shadow.
