Hi there! ^^

I have recently gotten the interest of 3D animation and based on what I've read throughout the internet I should focus on only one main thing if I strive to do great there (Modeling, animation, lighting, etc). I've followed a couple tutorials to get the basics down in animating in Maya and I'd like to play around and improve myself without hassling around with learning modeling and rigging as well. I heard that you could download already made models fully rigged for training/practising purposes which put a smile to my face upon hearing that. ^^

Question is; how do I install these models/rigs? I've searched around and only found the actual models and not the instructions on how to install them.

Yes... A very rookie-like question, I know! :>

Any help is highly appreciated! ;D

Often the model and rig should work accordingly. Else there would be some form of instruction. Sometimes you may need to run a mel script or install a shelf.

Try the rigs here (http://www.creativecrash.com/downloads/search?search=rigs+maya&type=&x=0&y=0).
