View Full Version : designed my own aircraft
still early on. still working out problems like potential prop strikes etc.. but I'm designing it from the ground up and trying to figure out how to solve things like air intake, oil intake etc as if it wsa a real world aircraft. I'll be making a dogfight between this and another one I'm designing.

Hi Arai,
Looks cool.
I hate to be a wet blanket... But... :D
I'm curious about the ring between the props. Since it appears to be the same material as the fuselage, I am assuming it does not rotate. Here's the rub... To the best of my knowledge, the reason we don't see many turboprops with counter rotating props is because they are an engineering/wear-n-tear nightmare. To add a non-rotating area between the props would only compound those problems.
I don't think it is something that most people would notice, but those that do will say "Wait, that's just wrong!"
Other than that, RockOn! :buttrock:
yeah I have to admit to a few artistic liberties. Although I like how war is the one place where you get away with designs that are maintenence entense just to get peak performance. Some aircraft even today are upwards of 10 maint hours to every flight hour. anyway I'll show the other one in the morning.. gotta go

Forward visibility, especially on landings, looks to be nearly non-exixtant.
its just more aerodynamically effecient. Look at wwII designs such as the corsair and me 109... or look at todays reno air races. You see a lot of cockpits where you wonder how the hell they get a good view out of there
heres the mid engine shaft driven bad guy. prop strike is an issue right now but the blades will be changed

I really like the design of the second plane... really cool, except the ladder seems a bit un neccesary, what would prolly happen is they'd have a stair case on wheels that rolls up to the wing and he'd use the wing to walk to the cockpit.
but it looks good, keep up the cool work.
Cheers,
