View Full Version : how to create believable liquid material for maya?

I am making a wine glass with some wine, but I am having some troubles with the material, I use dielectric material for both the glass and the wine. however the glass doesnt seems to see thru(suppose to see some more wine in the glass), and the wine doesn't look watery enough, I have tried couple of other materials and it doesn't seem working for me. maybe there are some settings that i didn't make it right. so any idea?

If at all possible use the mia_material. It's far superior to the dielectric, IMO.

Thanks mate, that works better, I also think the geometry is too thin, well i am just playing around with the material tho.
the only problem i have is the glass transparency, still don't know how to fix.
