View Full Version : Camera Tracking in Cg
sascha 08-06-2003, 08:49 PM Has anyone experience with the camera tracking node in XSI? I have some major problems getting a spotlight effect working although it should not be so complicated. My code works fine in other apps but not in XSI. How do I use the uniform cone value from this node? And what is the attenuation? Is it already the final distance? Some help would be nice.

sascha.. i'm sad to have to tell you that i think you're the current Cg expert. i see you ask Cg questions here and on the xsi mailing list and you rarely get answers. i don't think anyone has any experience with this matter.

Nice to get an answer from a XSI guy here. But unfortunately youfre right. Hardware rendering in XSI is not very popular at the moment. But I think the situation will be different in a year or so.
Still looking for a job in the industry? Same as here...
i'm hoping as big companies keep recruiting they'll start to steal talent from the smaller companies and they'll start hiring soon.
as far as Cg is concerned.. keep at it and when it gets popular you'll be the "Cg XSI Guru." you should start writing tutorials and get your name out there. =)
good luck!
