View Full Version : Need help trying to hold this edge properly :/

ok, im modeling this hard surface piece and i came to a area that i can't figure out..

i want to keep the hard edges there the green lines are running, but remove the hard edge where the red lines are, i want to keep that area nice and smooth, but keep the sharp angle.

current wireframe of the area where that i want to change.

try pulling the edges away from the middle & try to maintain the 3 edges on a level..this will remove the sharpness.

ahh sorry for the extremely late reply, very busy with school, but yea i tried your suggestion and it sort of worked, it got rid of the sharpness, but added pinching towards the ends and created a funny shadow fall off in the area.

but i just thought of converting to sub-d and using a partial crease where i want it sharp, i didn't get to play to much with it, but it looks like it may give my desired results. i'l try and upload some pics later.

Just remove the marked edges. You'll get NGons, but they aren't half as evil as they are said to be ;).
