View Full Version : Is True 3-d possible in AE5.5?
TurboNut 08-06-2003, 07:37 PM By true 3-d i mean sit down on the couch and throw on some 3-d glasses. is there any way possible with AE5.5 that this can be done, maybe a plug or something? i know you need all this special equipment to capture the most of the experience. but i would love to be able to do it low budget, just for fun. any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the replies.

The 3D effect of "anaglyph" images you talk about is a result of two pictures of one object, each taken through a slightly different perspective.
There's no way to create a 3dimensional object out of one 2D picture.
You have to capture with two cameras or a camera with special lenses for stereoscopic. Cannon has a lens for XL-1s if I'm not mistaken check out the BHPhoto web site, with two cameras you can do it by filming the same subject with both cameras at the same, side to side to get two images with slightly diferent perspectives, later you can merge this images using the AE plugin to generate the final Image.
Sorry for not helping much but I'm sure that you can find a lot of resources for that if you do a search in Google, look for Stereoscopic and Anaglyph images.
See ya! 8)
