Yea, he shouldn't really be shiny since his flesh is dead (not producing oils no more), and the upper lip seems really wavy.

My advice is to keep some shiny parts but constrain it to only parts of the head... Maybey a jelly like substance. :)

Well he isn't really dead (well maybe on the inside...); think of his skin more like the skin of Gollum.
I made a dry version, but I didn't really like it so I went for this look instead. However, I do agree that I should turn the shininess down in certain areas....
I'll do a new version when I get back from my holiday.

The texture on the skin is great but I also think that maybe it looks a little too wet. Also I think the teeth look a little flat.
