Hello!
Any way you can select all connected faces in an object with just one click? or expand a selection?

Not sure about selecting all the faces in one click, but growing a selection Modeling->Edit Polygons->Selection->Grow Selection Region. I just map a key to the command and click it a few times - that seems to get to selecting all the faces fairly quickly.

Yeah...
In the UV Texture editor Select->Select Shell will do what you want. Select a face, then Select->Select Shell, and all attached faces will be selected.
I use this one alot, and it gripes me that it isn't in the main menus. It is also agrivating that it doesn't show as a command that can be put on a shelf.
I image there is a script somewhere that puts this function in a more accesible spot.

Wow... Here's another...
Go to Edit Polygons->Selection->Selection Constraints...
At the bottom of the window set Propagation to Shell.
Now select a face and the whole shell will be selected.

Ahh... good point about the select shell. You can see the command: SelectUVShell; when you turn on echo all commands in the script editor.
