Heyyyyyy!! I have hit the forum after ages. Do I feel good!!
So, I am a 3D character animator. I use Maya at my workplace, but it's too expensive to buy for my personal, leisurely work at home. So what is bothering me in getting a new software is the learning curve. Can you guys recommend me some software that is fairly easy to learn, and preferably comes with built-in characters, so that I won't have to spend time modelling/rigging? Even if its free rigs are available on internet, it would do. If it's free, it will be a HUGE plus. But it's not really necessary. The basic requirements are:
a. It should be easy to learn
b. It should be cheap
c. Shouldn't require modelling/rigging skills
d. Should be able to run on a 2.67 GHz processor with 2GB RAM
e. Should give a reasonable level of control (Not the kind where you paste ready-made animation on a character, and then edit it with virtual no control over it)
I saw a packages on internet that were Easy with a capital-E, and were free too. But it didn't look like they gave a level of control that you would require for reasonable decent looking animation from scratch.
Thanks in advance, guys. :)
