View Full Version : Mesh deform during animation

Hi, Im a newbie in maya.. This is my first time trying to rig and animate a character. However during the process of animating, i come across a problem.. My character mesh seem to be deform in the chin area. I think i have accidentally mess it up while im using the paint skin weight tool on my character.

I remove all the key frame in my animation timeline and adjust the vertics on the chin. Then I add in the keyframe for animation. But the result is really bad.. the chin of my character gets animted from a normal to a deform chin...

Can anyone please advise me what I should do? My character is already skin.... Is there any solution to my problem...

Don't know if you've solved this yet. While I do not know your skeleton setup, I would recommend selecting the offending vertices (the verts in the chin that are moving), open the Component Editor and under the Smooth Skin tab, set the value of anything other than your HeadJoint to 0
