...ive been checking out Mudbox especially since its landed on OSX. i LOVE the amazing 3D work ive seen so far.

...wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in modeling characters in Mudbox and then animating them in Maya which is the what im aiming to do.

...are there any links for examples?. ive tried ssearching and found nothing. so any help there would be well appreciated.

there is no magic in creating an animateable char for maya...
its the same if you use zbrush...

model a basemesh...
sculpt the character or parts of it...
create a new topology for it if the old one is not animateable...
bake a displacementmap and bring all the stuff to maya...

I agree. Animating a character sculpted from Mudbox is no different than animating a character not sculpted from Mudbox. If you've done proper rigging and modeling, and of course your UV's need to work, the displacement or normal mapping end of things is just a rendertime feature. The actual animation work is identical.
