danydrunk 08-06-2003, 05:48 AM does somebody know how to make text look sharp and clear in flash?? every time i put some text in a flash page, it looses quality everytime i make it smaller, ive seen some web pages that have some really sharp and clear fonts and i dont know if theyre using special fonts, or if its a technique.......hope im explaining my self

They are usually special pixel fonts. You need to have 'antialiasing' turned off whenever you make your text really small because otherwise it will just become unreadable.
I believe www.fontsforflash.com has download examples and a tutorial.

and where do i turn off antialiasing??
the only thing i foud is how to turn off antialising in the preview window, but not in the swf....

I had the same problem - check my post in this forum. Use dynamic text as your text and it looks just like html pages do. Also - the text looks blurrier in the flash editing window that it actually does when you preview the movie (at least the dynamic text)....Just my 2cents.....

You can also use the "device font" in text options, and that'll use the browser's text, and it'll be absolutly crisp, but that just runs into a whole other load of problems with size and all... ugh.
