After mirroring my arm jnts I have noticed that the my Zs are now pointing down? Is this a problem?
Should the Z be up on both arms, and if so, why?...... Does this "behavior" type mirroring make it easy to transfer FK animation (or IK for that matter) from the right arm to the left (like if you wanted to mirror the pose)

did you use the jsOrientJointUI on the mirrored joints?

I usually will do this on my joints after mirroring them.. just to be sure the axis are facing the way I want. :)

Jason

I toyed around with it a little bit and it seems that if you do NOT re-Orient the joints then you can select both elbow joints (for example) and perform symetrical movement(FK of course).... this also seems like it would make it easy to transfer the animation from the left to the right.... do you not do that, or do you adjust the values (I guess they would be opposite?)?
I can see the benefits of both??.... just was wondering from those who have experience.

sounds like your joints might be oriented inconsistently.... are you working from one of Jason's DVDs??
Have you tried viewing the joints orientation (Display>Component Display>Local Rotation Axis) to see if they are all the same?

You might want to invest in the DVD that explains how it all works.... it's worth it, it will save you time and will cut down on wasted work that has to be re-done.
