for a comic style it's ok but it misses something to catch the viewer...something outmost funny or out of the ordinary

davinci247, thank you ^^

Suirebit, when you said "comic style", you think about cartoon (maybe 3D)? I undestand what you said about "something outmost funny or out of the ordinary" and i agree that this chara-design don't have much of it. In fact, this girls have not story behind and then she's not really "alive" ^^.

So i did this one with a real story (that i did) and develop this chara-concept design from it :

Story :
Orphean, Patrick, was found into trashes by a photographer when he's a baby. The photographer teached Patrick like his son and his light-assistant. But one day, while they was in photos shoot, the photographer was killed by mafia's murderer for photos taken before what proves the guilty of them. This day, Patrick was in front of the scene and at the moment of the murder, he pressed his flash button, blinding the murderer. Saw the fall of his father onto the ground liveless, and he ran.

Today, long time after, he comes back to save lifes with a suit what he made. He's a pacifist and jsut want to save life. His suit gives him the power of sparkling. Depending on the body's position, the suit become a powered flash blinding everyone around 30 sec minimum and not the owner. The reflection on the suit, help to the camouflage and then he can hide in shadows, vegetations, trashes, debris ...

The power of his suit resides in the the approach and the escape, Patrick can arrive without be seen, flash enemies when he get noticed and then escape with the victims. He don't have signature, cause he don't want it, he just want to be like the light, elusive.

my all my art teachers shout out the same phrase "ALWAYS ADD A BACKGROUND!!!"

which applies to what i see here, i think any back ground will make your pictures stand out rather than a plain color...whether its an actual scene or just some sort of design it would really help.

Thank you forthe advises, i know that i should put a background but i take more more more time to do it and actually i'm creating a book for charadesign so it's importantless i think.

If i've the time, i'll do it.

An other charadesign :

well that's why i said any back ground, for instance on some projects I've worked on i simply used a focal blurred out photo with a few filters for the back ground just so something it there to make it more attractive...

others i just make a few color splotches or use some downloaded photo-shop brushes and adding some shapes in the back ground...doesn't take much time at all really...and even a minimal effort on it is effective.

other wise it just doesn't feel complete or meaning full, just a character on a page...

some times just adding the characters shadow is enough, which i see in your recent post :)

but if your going to do it try and make it match the characters position, i know i'm being a bit if a stinker but the shadow in this one isn't complementing just distracting...he staining straight in front of you(according to the feet), but his shadow is going upward...

I'll come back later on this charadesign (i'm so tired today to do it now) and i post an other character design that took my a lot of time (2 days taking my time ^^) and well i'm pretty satisfied for once ^^ so there it is :
