View Full Version : Why my XSI using huge pagefile, Please help.
kolayamit 08-26-2009, 03:42 PM After running XSI for half an hour or less than that, XSI is using more than 3 gb of pagefile, while i have more than 2 GB Ram free. Everything slows down when it's using my pagefile, i cannot understand why is it using my pagefile, while my ram is free. Is there any option to turn off pagefile usage for XSI. Please Help.
P.S. I am using XSI 7.5 64 bit, i have 4 GB of ram and 6 GB pagefile. OS is Win XP 64 bit.

Where did you obtain that 3 gig number? What is the precise task manager column you're looking at? Did you minimize XSI and cause windows to swap out all the DLLs?

Are you freezing your modeling stack periodically?

There's no shortcut key but you can adjust this value: Transform > Transform Preferences > Tool > Transform Axes Display > Size %.

If you are having trouble grabbing the handles here is what I do; In Preferences>Tools>Transform>Tool tab change "Click Outside Manipulator" to "SI3D-Style Transform". This allows you to just click outside the manipulator and use the left, middle, and right mouse buttons to control the x,y,z transform. Very handy! I love that feature and really miss it when working in other programs.
