in the movie time machine when the guy travels to the future the buildings are constructed piece by piece from the ground up. i am pretty sure this effect was not done by keyframe but with some type of program, expression, etc. does anyone know if this can be done in cinema. i know TP can do this but i am not sure it can achieve the results i hope for. another example is in a music video by some female singer. and another is in a Quikrete commercial. basically the object being put together is made up of smaller objects like in buildings, bricks or panels. or i once saw a boat with the same type of animation. when the animation is made the panels or such are shown assembling into the final shape of a building or other. i hope this made sense.

i know this can easily be achieved by turning off the render settings for each object, but i am looking for more of an animated boolean effect and i think by turning off the render setttings for each could get to confusing. anyone know of an expression or such.

You could play with the explosion deformer. Make it REALLY big and start it out by being exploded and then back to normal.

VestanPance thanks for the tip, i tried that option a few minutes ago and it is close. i will keep looking. i'll try to find a pic or an animation of what i am hoping to achieve. this way hopefully it will make my idea more clear.

Go here:
Paul Everetts Old site (http://www.bookwoodarts.de/pe/index.htm)

Click on PLUGINS, then scroll down to "Pasto Motion Expression"

Open up the script in the coffee dialogue box once loaded in c4d. This will build your model 1 iece at a time.
