peterdobes 08-25-2009, 12:42 AM Hey guys,
I've just finished my website and I'm ready to send it to all the possible employers.;)
But I would like to ask your oppinion about it first.
The site is: www.peterdobes.com (http://www.peterdobes.com)
I'm planning to create a separate reel for rigging and an other one for my 2D and mo-graph work.
Any suggestions are wellcome.
Thanks

Hey Peter, I sure could try to give you a few comments! I'm only a few months out of school myself, so I don't necessarily have THAT much experience, but I'll try to help. :)
Personally, I think your showreel is too long, and some of the better stuff comes too late (the fairy was good, I'd show it early) Anyway, you could easily cut it in half in my opinion. Better keep it short and sweet than having it stopped half way through by a possible employer.
I liked your gallery, you got some good stuff there! Careful with the navigation though, that's never a good thing when you have to search for the arrow for the next picture.
And I don't know if that's a good idea to make multiple reels. I personally wouldn't do it, simply because I would want anyone that looks at my reel to know exactly what I can do right away, and not just part of my skills. But maybe that's just me.
Well, hope it helps! Good luck with your job hunting!

Hi David,
Very good point about the gallery. I've fixed it, so the arrows are always visible.
I think you're right about the fairy godmother. It needs to come forward. I'll try to cut down on the showreel too but it's very painful. LoL
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it.

I managed to edit the showreel, so it's a lot shorter: 2:49.
I know it might still be a bit long but can't think of anything else to edit out.
Anybody else? All ideas are welcome!
Thanks
