I have a walk cycle as a source and i want to edit it.
I want to transfer the clip keyframes onto the main time line so that i can select the bones/effectors etc on the model. ill then make it back into a clip when ive edited the keyframes.

How do u make the clip back into keyframes on the main timeline?

thnks,
Morgn.

animate panel - action - apply action (pick source from the explorer)

do your changes

save action

i think that's what you're looking for

mmm.
when i try to apply the action no sources appear in the explorer.
i could go through and key all, but that leaves me with alot of unwanted key frames....

1. you have an animated object
2. select it
3. if you do STORE ACTION, a mixer appears in the explorer, (mixer-source-animation-[name of clip]), and the keys disappear from the object

if you select the clip under the source, and do APPLY ACTION, the keys reappear on the object, you can edit them, and resave the action in order to use it as a clip.

if you imported the clip from somewhere else - not connected to your object, problems may occour. (I mean, you cant really effectively apply an insect walk cycle to a cube)

It is some kind of mocap clip? Did I understood your problem well, or just am I buzzin' around?

yeah.
i imported the mixer which had a walk cycle clip into my scene and onto my edited skeleton- all the bones were the same name. The cycle worked but when i tried to apply the clip to the main timeline the explorer didnt pop up. it must be something to do with the fact that i imported the mixer.
