This is my first time posting a work on CG Talk. Must admit I'm quite nervous about it, because there are so many talented artists here... and I am not worthy. :bowdown:

This is the original artwork from Feng Zhu, all rights to him for being such a great artist!

Of course I will build an environment for this scene: I am thinking of a small lake coast and some trees, so I started looking for some tree modeling tutorial and, using some references I came up with this:

I would love to hear some opinions from people here, every single opinion from you CG Talk guys is valuable to me so don't hold back and send your critiques and comments.

it's very awesome sketch in there, so u have hard work to make a good peace out of it :p
i success that u make every peace of wood (using textures or what ever u want to) to look very good and have the same mood ass there is in the sketch....i love it and u have a very good start also

It depend on how far your camara is. If you are going to close it up, you better make i tmore detail. Sometimes don't just rely on a single reference picture for "detail". Go out and study the nature.

I think it's pretty good so far, certainly you'll need more detail. You gotta diecide which will be attributed to textures and which will be actually modeled. Myself, I'd go with textures for the look of the planks.

Nice work! With proper lighting and texturing this project could be awesome.
