Hey all -

I've been staring at this fur for an hour or so and, you know it goes with losing the eye after staring for a while. What improvements can be made to this tennis ball fur?

I think the fur self-shadowing is a little heavy, but I'm not too familiar with those settings, I'll have to tweak later.

at first glance it seems a little too 'combed'. the length looks about right, maybe a tiny bit on the long side, but it seems too directional in places.

Wow! It looks great! Length seems fine, but I don't think it's curly enough. Tennis balls have a very tangled look to them. Maybe if you can get the little hairs to be more curly?

i'd have to disagree here Eldee and say this actually adds to the realism if it's a used tennis ball as the fibers would be flat in areas from constant forcefull contact with the court.

Thanks for all the input fellas... I'm going for a new tennis ball, so it hasn't been forced or matted down at all. Once I get this down I'll probably do a used one as well.

I'll try scraggling it up some. I think the length is +\- a point or two..

Thanks again. Big help. :)

I think this would hold up under most circumstances/animations. CC welcome as always :)
